The Dean's Office in the Faculty of Medicine is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Privacy & Records Officer.
The position reports jointly to the Executive Director, Faculty of Medicine and the Associate Dean Clinical Affairs, Faculty of Medicine and works with clients and staff who have an expectation of confidence. The incumbent will be privy to a considerable amount of personally identifiable & highly confidential information. This individual is responsible for performing records management and privacy management duties in relation to: Business Information Assets; Scholarly Information Assets; and Clinical Health Information Assets (personally identifiable & highly confidential). This includes implementing, monitoring and enforcing records management for all information assets, with extra involvement in the development and implementation of information management procedures for Scholarly & Clinical Health Information Assets. Further, the position is responsible for performing privacy investigations in conjunction with Legal Services & IT Security and Human Resource. Providing leadership, education, expert consulting, monitoring, and enforcement in relation to the privacy of scholarly & clinical health information assets is a critical component of the position.
A close alignment with IT is required to ensure services are able to support the need for business accountability for data, as well as ongoing auditing & monitoring for compliance. Work undertaken by this position will be in compliance with the University's information management policies.
