Apple is seeking candidates for a new position that will facilitate relationships with content providers, with a focus on historical archives, primary source materials, and other unique collections.
This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record that shows strong initiative, collaboration skills, project management expertise, and knowledge of education content and the museum or library industry. The successful candidate must have technical expertise related to developing or managing archival collections, digitization processes, and metadata attributions.
He or she must also demonstrate exceptional examples of working on a cross-functional team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions both inside and outside of Apple are required. The candidate must be self-directed, assertive and confident and have a track record of handling digital media business, community relationships and project management.
The successful candidate will also be results driven with an attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, and the ability to focus on strategic agendas while managing day-to-day job activities under the pressure of tight deadlines and high expectations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain business relationships with libraries, museums, universities, and other content curators to facilitate distribution of digital content
- Provide technical advisement and direction to relevant organizations on best practices related to digitization, archiving, metatagging, and distribution of original analog works.
- Coordinate education content development conversations between various distribution channels
- Work with content distribution teams on production aspects of education media
- Outline and manage merchandising calendars of inbound education media
- Coordinate with Education Marketing on thematic education content campaigns
Required Experience:
- Over 7 years of work history in digital content business, with an acceptable range of experience that includes: digitization projects, digital collection development and curation
- Experience with museum or library industry, with a particular focus on digital archives and collections
- Proven ability to proactively establish rapport, credibility and influence, and drive results throughout an organization at all levels, across many departments (management, legal, PR and others) in a highly matrixed organization
- Must have superlative written and verbal skills as well as strong presentation skills
- Must be very analytical and disciplined in their approach to business
- Project management experience across multiple organizations
- Must be resourceful, creative and results oriented with high energy and a positive attitude
- Solid understanding of the education customer and market
- Degree in Library Sciences, Museum Studies, Educational Technology, or related discipline is a plus
